My work is born of the land and its forms, macro and micro. My process is both scientific and intuitive, often utilizing an underlying set of rules to initiate a work but with final resolution both intuitive and emergent from the physical properties of the material.
At my core, I am a painter though my materials and methods vary. I draw inspiration from observing complex and interdependent systems in the natural world. Relationships, synergy and dissonance observed in biological systems feed my creative process, whether it be land formations, forest biota or the biome of the cell.
