Rachel Saul Rearick: January 2020
Rachel received her Bachelors of Fine Art in Printmaking with a Minor in Art History from Edinboro University; and went on to receive a Masters of Public Administration from Gannon University. Following her undergraduate work, Rachel did a printmaking residency at Wilson College, leaving wok in their permanent collection.
Balancing her creative process somewhere between printmaking and painting, monoprints have become Rachel’s primary visual language. She enjoys building conversations that are layered with information, working to evoke emotion through the use of color and texture, by first building each background in an intuitive manner. Currently, Rachel is exploring the use of repeating shapes and forms, to delineate space through the use of line.
Rachel currently serves as the Arts and Culture Manager for the Allegheny County Airport Authority, is on the Board of Artists Image Resource, and is an active member of both the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Print Group.
