Special Project and Collaborations - Three Rivers Arts Festival (Due Feb. 27)

Special Project and Collaborations - Three Rivers Arts Festival
Deadline: February 27, 2025

One-of-a-kind installations, roaming or immersive performances, unusual collaborations, and other unconventional artistic experiences are as important to the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival as the artwork presented on stages and in galleries. Tiny Doors PGH, Umbrella Sky Project, and Complaints ‘n’at Choir are just a few recent examples of Special Projects / Collaborations presented at the Festival. If you want to pursue an artistic concept beyond the traditional stage, you are in the right place. The open call for applications will close after 300 submissions or by February 27, 2025.

To further collaborative and experimental performance opportunities for local and regional artists, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust invites musicians, dancers, actors, literary and performance artists to submit proposals for work beyond the traditional stages of the Festival. In particular, work that is immersive in nature and that directly engages audiences in a participatory way is highly encouraged.

Please note:

  • Projects should be appropriate for all ages.

  • Accepted artists will be compensated (selected artists will be invited to discuss project scope and budget)

  • Artist submissions not selected will be kept on a waiting list for consideration of Festival and other Trust programs.

  • Applicants will be notified of status in April of 2025.

Application period closes on February 27, 2025 or after the first 300 applications are submitted.
