The Area Artist Annual is a juried exhibition of original work open to artists of all ages residing within the following counties: Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana in Ohio; Mercer or Lawrence in Pennsylvania.
RULES OF ENTRY
1. Entrants must reside within the following counties: Mahoning, Columbiana, or Trumbull in Ohio; Mercer or Lawrence in Pennsylvania.
2. Entrants may submit up to two works. Works must be created within the last two years.
3. All media is eligible including oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. All hanging works must hang on the wall by securely attached D-rings. Works must measure less than 6 feet in any direction and must weigh less than 125 pounds. Works must be original to the submitting artist and may not have been included in previous Butler exhibitions.
4. Entrants must submit digital jpeg images of work no later than October 25, 2024. The submitted images are assumed to be accurate representations of the actual work. One image per entry. Please title each entry image with the artist’s last name, underscore, title. For example, Homer_Snap the Whip. Spaces between the words in the title are preferred.
5. Entries are to be submitted online at www.Butlerart.com. 5. Entry is free for members. For new members there is a $40 fee which includes individual membership benefits for the Butler. Membership contact: membership@ butlerart.com
INSURANCE LIABILITY
ARTISTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN INSURANCE.
Works will be handled with care and professionalism, but acceptance into the exhibition is at the artist’s risk. Entrants must insure their own work. The Butler cannot assume any liability for loss or damage, however caused. Submission of work and signature of the artist on the entry form constitute agreement to all terms, conditions and rules of entry.
CASH AWARDS
Cash awards will be announced at the opening Sunday, January 5. Winners not present at the exhibition opening will be contacted by mail after that date.
DROP OFF ARRANGEMENTS
In-person deliveries will be accepted December 11-13 between the hours of 10 AM – 3 PM, and December 14 between the hours of 12 PM-3 PM. In-person pickup will take place February 26-28 between the hours of 10 AM – 3 PM. Shipping questions should be directed to Josh Long joshualong@butlerart.com.
