Offroute Art Call for Submissions (Rolling)

Offroute Art Call for Submissions
Deadline: Rolling

Mission

Offroute Art’s primary function is to support artists aged 16-24 by creating and engaging these individuals in an inclusive community that connects their art, energy, and vision with a greater audience. We believe that the power of art combined with youth energy is a force for good in the world. By giving young adults support and belonging, community organically begins to grow and expand.

Inclusion:

We actively work to include and support artists of all experiences and backgrounds. Our BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists, supporters, community members, and fellow citizens make up the backbone of Offroute and the work we do. Our name means A DIFFERENT PATH. One that pushes against the restrictions of late-capitalism (i.e.: artists receive 100% of their sales with no loopholes) and that serves and meets artists and our communities where they are. We welcome artists, customers, volunteers, and supporters with openness, respect, and the assumption of best intentions.

Eligible artists must be between the ages of 16 - 24.

  • Artists must live in the United States and have active paypal accounts (this is how we send your payments)

  • Artists who live in the Pittsburgh region are asked to drop off any art that is accepted to one of our partner businesses or porch drop-off. Artists who live outside of the Pittsburgh region may ship their art to us and are responsible for shipping and handling.

  • Types of art we accept: ceramics, fabric, metal, 2D, 3D, crafts.

  • Types of art we do not accept: overly violent or sexual; clothes; jewelry; fan art; anything NOT original to the artist (i.e.: other people's work, copies of already existing art); pieces that are overly heavy or may be dangerous to handle.

  • How we select art: we do not accept everything that is submitted to us. We do our best to select a wide range of styles and expressions, but also strive to select art that is appropriate for all ages, interesting, and the we think we can display and help sell.

  • Pricing: Artists set their own prices and receive 100% of their sales. The majority of the art we sell is under $100 but we do consider higher priced pieces.
