Gift to America 2.0: New Voices. New Walls. Call for Art

GTA2.0, seeks Artists whose work has the power to inspire, rejuvenate and transform communities towards greater connection. Drawing inspiration from the Murals’ themes of: justice, injustice, immigrant experience and/or motherhood, Artists are to interpret, reimagine these themes through their lived experience and create an artwork ready to exhibit, perform, and share with SPMMMV’s multigenerational programming and the larger community.

This is an exclusive opportunity for regional artists, who live within a 150-mile radius of Pittsburgh, identifying as BIPOC and/or Immigrant supporting the creation of 4 original works inspired by the themes of justice, injustice, immigrant experience and/or motherhood.

This opportunity includes: 2 dimensional creatives (artists who work in paint, ink, drawing, collage, photography…), Writers, Dancers, and Musicians. You may apply individually or in collaboration with others.

Commission: $5,000 plus up to $2,000 additional per artist for creative community engagement.

  1. Artist CV, Resume or Bio

  2. Up to 3 High Quality Work Samples (files under 10MB) or link to portfolio

  3. Examples of educational and/or community engagement activities
