Apps due May 30, 2022 for Academic Year starting late August 2023 through May 2024.
In exchange for 24 hours of work per week (8 hrs/day, T-Th). HopeCAT will house 2 artists in our Resident Artist house (free of charge) to complete residencies at our center. The hours worked will mainly be focused on teaching the Youth Arts program alongside our Teaching Artists in various studios. Details for each studio are listed below, as well as photographs to give you better visuals if possible.
*REQUIREMENTS*
Bachelor's degree in Fine Art or Art Education, preferably working toward graduate school and/or 3 years of experience in a professional art field.
Resident Artists will receive:
24 hour access to the building
Free access to our studio materials
A moderate budget for specialty materials not provided
Unlimited use of studio spaces (details below)
One gallery showing at the end of the residency
Access to our network of professionals
Resident Artists will have the opportunity of:
Teaching Adult Art Classes for profit
Selling artworks through our galleries
Using our center to create a working portfolio (professionally or to use for grad apps)
Participating in our bi-annual art sales (Winter Holiday sale and Mother's Day sale)
Experiencing any workshops that may be scheduled during the year at our center
Ceramics, Printmaking, Painting/Drawing programs and facilities available through residency.
