The Associated Artists of Pittsburgh presents Electric Kool-Aid, a group exhibition of mixed-medium works, curated by Corey Carrington, Pittsburgh-based poet, visual artist, and change maker.

The AAP members presenting work include: Priya Ahlawat, Patricia Barefoot, Pati Beachley, Christie Biber, Kathy Boykowycz, Lauren Braun, Dee Briggs, Yang Cai, Ron Copeland, Sheila Cuellar-Shaffer, Brendan Donovan, Christopher Duncan, Ashley Garner, Annie Heisey, Ryder Henry, Lori Hepner, Robert Howsare, Seth LeDonne, Lesla, Ken Merget, Clayton Merrell, Marina Mozhayeva, Desiree Palermo, Mark Panza, Linda Price-Sneddon, Jack Puglisi, Janice Schuler, Phiris Kathryn Sickels, Louise Silk, Joyce Werwie Perry, and Kathleen Zimbicki.

About the Curator

Corey Carrington, also known as Grits Capone, is an accomplished poet, visual artist, and change maker from the Northside of Pittsburgh. He is deeply involved in Pittsburgh's spoken word community and, uses his creative practice to effect positive social change while exploring themes of identity, connectivity, community, and individuality. Carrington's work in performance art and visual art have been seen at the August Wilson Center, The Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Wood Street Galleries, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, BOOM Concepts, and more. He received his B.S. in Communication and Creative Writing from Slippery Rock University in 2011 in Communications and Creative Writing.

The Color of Being

The Associated Artists of Pittsburgh presents The Color of Being, an exhibition featuring AAP members Ashley Garner and Annie Heisey, curated by Jen Melvin.
Heisey and Garner’s colorful and surreal work depicts their perception of the world around them. They have created these visual records to bear witness, process, dissect and challenge their experiences and memories.
