Artist Statement
As well as painting landscapes, I specialize in painting old and stately architecturally notable buildings and private dwellings, conveying a sense of their historic significance and the uniqueness of their wonderful edifices. My watercolors incorporate the intricacy of the original and evoke the appropriate atmosphere to enhance the overall effect. Working from my composite photographs, a single watercolor may take as long as eight weeks to complete. Each watercolor is carefully rendered in pencil and then painted using many layers of watercolor similar, in some instances, to the use of oil. Limited edition prints are available and are signed and numbered.
